As opposed to its original aim ,which was to prevent Soviet aggression during the Cold war, NATO’s current purpose is to sustain the freedom and security of its member states through both political means and military intervention. NATO is dedicated to putting an end to disputes with peaceful solutions however in case of the failure of these aforementioned diplomatic attempts, its military capacity may be put into practise by undertaking crisis management operations. In this committee delegates will focus on finding resolutions to issues such as Catalan independence or the fight against cyber crimes which have been causing a great deal of trouble to the alliance. This committee is suitable for experienced delegates.
